When the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship opted to switch up its match format, The Golf Channel and NBC Sports seized the opportunity to create a scoring application that would showcase standings in the new format to viewers. A longtime RCS client, Golf Channel/NBC Sports turned to us to develop that system for use in tournament coverage. Held April 27-May 3, the tournament took place at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

Leveraging the PGA Tour Shotlink scoring system, the RCS crew built the system to interface real-time player standings and scores, allowing operators to navigate to any player group or bracket in real-time and deliver up-to-the-minute match scorecards. Over the course of the five-day tournament, NBC Sports/Golf Channel used the system for seven shows airing across both networks, including remote coverage of the tournament from Golf Channel’s Orlando studio; our crew was on site for support throughout.
