Big Knockout Boxing (BKB) returned to PPV on Saturday in full force as middleweights Rosado and Stevens squared off in the pit. The live broadcast marked the first-ever to feature televised graphics that gauge the impact of fighter punches in real-time. The RCS team was on site to catch all of the action and help bring it to life on-air. Working closely with BKB and Elliot Fight Dynamics (EFD), our team helped deploy a custom workflow that transformed real-time stats and data collected during the fight into dynamic graphics displaying the speed of the punch and pounds per inch.

To bring it all together, BKB first installed EFD’s bluetooth sensor technology in each fighter’s glove. About the size of a dime, the chips tracked the velocity and force of each punch, and sent the data to an EFD station, where it was quickly processed and relayed to an RCS graphics station in a broadcast truck. Our team then helped build a custom algorithm to speak to the graphics machines and imprint the time code in order to get them on-air as they happened.
