As part of a four-year deal with Fox Sports Netherlands, RCS built and delivered comprehensive ticker solutions for the August debut of “Fox Sports Vandaag,” the network’s new daily highlights show. The technology powers a customizable reverse L-Bar graphic, which the network can instantly edit and populate with breaking player, team and match news and data – a first in Netherlands sports broadcast. Having already leveraged the technology to enliven its new program, Fox Sports also plans to use it for studio coverage of other live sporting events, including the 2015-2016 Eredivisie season.

Built by a team at RCS’ London office, the ticker systems run on Vizrt Viz Engines, proprietary authoring and play out applications, a SQL database and an Opta data parser. They house an array of templates for a range of sports, and make it easy for the network’s editorial team to edit and populate the reverse L-Bar graphic with real-time content on-demand. Changes can be made instantly to the different components of the graphic – including the side wing, bottom ticker, topic bar and promo carousel – and playlist content can easily be adjusted.

Our crew was in the studio the week of the launch to ensure everything was running smoothly, and will continue to update the systems throughout the four-year arrangement.
